This game features graphic violence towards human-like characters. Powerful weapons, including explosives, can be used to kill or incapacitate. The use of explosives at close range can lead to decapitation and dismemberment, both of human characters and horses. Reactions to violence are realistic, with characters screaming in pain and wounds appearing on their bodies. There are some 'execution-style' moves, which feature strong blood and gore. The game also features violence towards defenceless characters, including the ability to lasso and tie up innocent people, on whom violence can then be inflicted. This includes dragging them behind horses, leaving them on train tracks and throwing them into water to drown. The player can also attack and kill multiple civilian characters using any of the weapons at their disposal. There is frequent use of strong language ('fuck') as well as discriminatory terms, such as the 'n' word.
