Saber Interactive is responding quickly to player feedback following the Purgation Update. The headline change for many will be the 15% damage increase for the one-handed Bolt Carbine. While the weapon has always looked the part, it often felt like you were throwing pebbles at Tyranid Warriors on higher difficulties; this buff should help it find a more stable place in the current meta.
Siege Mode is also seeing significant structural changes to make the experience less punishing for casual groups. Atonements have been completely disabled in Normal difficulty, allowing players to focus on the core mechanics without the extra layer of modifiers. Furthermore, enemy resistance scaling has been dialed back. The growth rate per step is down from 5% to 4%, with new caps of 60% for regular missions and 80% for Terminus encounters. This should prevent that feeling of hitting a brick wall during late-game waves.
Several Atonement perks that were causing excessive frustration have been tuned. Hardened Skins and Warp Storm have received adjustments to their stacks and cooldowns, ensuring that while the challenge remains, it feels less like the game is cheating. For those who prefer the Combat Knife, the relic versions have had their animations slightly sped up, making your melee flow feel more responsive in the heat of battle.
On the technical side, this patch squash some annoying bugs. The issue where weekly rewards were failing to trigger has been addressed, and your custom armor sets should no longer mysteriously disappear. Tactical and Sniper players will also notice that perk cooldowns are now functioning as intended, restoring the intended rhythm of their class abilities.
