I've been gaming and building for PC games since the late 1990s. I created JSHB (JS' Hunter Bar) and Serenity for World of Warcraft — over 1.4 million combined downloads on CurseForge — and I've been running soren.com since 1997.
My own play time these days goes mostly to survival and looter-shooters — SCUM, Conan Exiles, Project Zomboid, Escape from Tarkov, Diablo, The Division 2. soren.com itself covers far more than what I personally play.
How soren.com works
soren.com is a gaming news site I built to cover thousands of games at the speed gaming news actually moves. I personally curate the source list — only verified publisher and developer channels, official patch notes, and primary industry sources. No aggregators, no rumor mills, no clickbait outlets.
Those sources feed into an editorial system I designed. It encodes my standards for what counts as news, what tone to use, what to filter out, and how to cite. Hundreds of automated checks catch issues; anything ambiguous gets flagged for me to handle directly. Every article is reviewed before it goes live — claims verified against the cited sources, bias stripped, context added.
The goal is gaming news that's actually worth reading. I can't manually write thousands of articles a day. I can design a system that holds itself to the standards I would.
Articles are written and edited in English. Versions in other languages are produced by automated translation of the English originals.
