Launch day for Update 50 is set for June 8, and for many of us, the highlight is the comprehensive Werewolf refresh. For too long, lycanthropy has felt like a niche playstyle that struggled to keep pace with modern trial and PvP metas. This update aims to sharpen those claws, making the transformation a more viable and competitive choice for high-end gameplay.
Beyond the fur and fangs, The Elder Scrolls Online is finally introducing the Challenge Difficulty system. If you’ve spent years melting overland bosses in seconds, this is the answer to your prayers. This system allows players to opt into higher stakes for greater rewards, potentially revitalizing the exploration experience for veteran players who have long outleveled the base game's difficulty curve.
Accessibility is also getting a huge boost. On June 2, the game joins PC Game Pass, allowing a massive new wave of players to join the fight against Molag Bal. This integration includes support for handheld devices via Xbox accounts, which is a massive win for those of us who want to knock out our daily writs or a quick dungeon run on the go.
The month is packed with events to keep your XP bars moving:
- Night Market Event: Running now through June 17.
- Three-Sided Chaosball: A Battlegrounds spotlight from June 10 to June 17.
- Golden Pursuits: A new campaign celebrating Challenge Difficulty from June 18 to July 7.
- Zeal of Zenithar: The fan-favorite crafting and trading event returns June 24.
Keep an eye on the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7. While Update 50 is the immediate focus, that showcase will provide our first real look at Season One, which is slated to shake up the narrative and mechanical landscape even further this July.
