The headline change involves a significant restructuring of the Orbital Core encounter. Moving forward, this segment is being completely decoupled from the main story mission. Renamed "Core Competence," the Orbital Core will now exist as its own distinct entity. For players currently mid-mission, take note: if you are already on the Orbital Core step, the game will automatically complete it for you once the servers come back up at approximately 11am CT. However, if you are on an earlier step, your progress will be reset, requiring a fresh start on the revamped mission chain.
BioWare is also addressing the grind associated with Dantooine’s Dynamic Encounters. Requirements for these events are being scaled down, making it much faster to clear objectives. Additionally, the Hazard Mitigation Terminals are becoming far more accessible; you will no longer need to grind Reputation just to interact with them. This is a massive win for alts and newer players who found the previous gating frustratingly restrictive.
To keep the narrative flow tight, the intro cinematic and its associated mission will now only trigger once per character. If you’ve already seen the story play out on one hero, you’ll have the option to skip the introduction entirely on subsequent characters. It’s a small but vital change for those of us maintaining a large roster of Sith and Jedi across the galaxy. Full patch notes are expected to drop on June 1, just ahead of the four-hour maintenance window.
