The two-day session is focused on stress-testing the internal build and gathering direct feedback from some of the community's most experienced sailors. The primary goal is to move beyond standard TDM (Team Deathmatch) formats and develop diverse, creative game types that the community can host independently. By bringing creators directly to the studio, Rare is looking to ensure the tools are robust enough to handle the unscripted chaos the game is known for.
For those who prefer showing off their skills through a lens rather than a sword, the current #SoTShot competition is nearing its end. The theme for this round is 'Brawling Boats,' focusing on the intensity of naval combat. If you have the perfect shot of a broadside exchange or a ship-to-ship boarding maneuver, you have until May 13th at 12pm UTC to submit your entry. Winners will walk away with the highly coveted Golden Hour Sails, one of the rarest cosmetic rewards in the game.
Outside of the technical testing and competitive photography, Rare is also engaging with the community on a lighter note. The official team recently received an oversized Capuchin monkey plush and is currently looking for name suggestions from the player base. Whether you are interested in the future of private lobbies or just want to win some exclusive sails, there is plenty happening on the horizon for the pirate simulator.
