The headline feature of Update 4 is the reworked police pursuit system, internally dubbed "Breadcrumbs." In the previous build, AI behavior could feel scripted or overly aggressive in ways that didn't always make sense. The new system aims for more dynamic, less predictable pathfinding, forcing you to be more creative with your racing lines and urban navigation to lose the heat.
Combat has also seen a much-needed tuning pass. If you felt like you were whiffing too many punches, you'll notice that player hit chances have been improved across the board. To balance this, Liquid Swords has decreased NPC defense and shove defense, making the flow of close-quarters combat feel faster and more rewarding. It’s less about chipping away at a wall and more about the high-stakes impact the game originally promised.
For those on their second playthrough or just looking to get back to the action, the addition of a cutscene skip option is a massive quality-of-life win. The update also cleans up several progression blockers in Chapters 8, 11, and 12, alongside fixing annoying NPC spawning bugs that could break immersion in the open world.
Finally, the team has introduced a Low Video Memory warning and general stability patches. If you've been struggling with performance in the denser parts of the city, these under-the-hood tweaks should provide a smoother experience as you work to clear those debts.
