While the previous heavy-hitting update brought plenty of new gear to the table, it also introduced a few nasty bugs that were ruining high-stakes heists. The most critical fix in this 18.3 MB patch addresses a frequent crash occurring when players threw Incendiary grenades. For those of us running fire-based crowd control builds, this means you can finally return to area denial without worrying about your game closing to desktop mid-wave.
Stealth enthusiasts also have a reason to celebrate. There was a frustrating issue on Firestarter Day 1 where the OVE9000 saw, even when equipped with the 'Silent Motor' mod, was inadvertently triggering alarms. This effectively broke stealth runs for players relying on the saw for quick objective completion. Update 246.1 restores the silent functionality of the motor, allowing for those clean, undetected warehouse clears once again.
Additionally, the developers have tightened up the logic for shaped charges on the same map. Previously, these explosives weren't always alerting the authorities as they should; they now correctly trigger the alarm upon detonation. The patch is rounded out with general localization updates to keep the global heisting community on the same page.
While it is a smaller download, these technical fixes are vital for maintaining the tactical integrity of the game's more complex missions. If you've been avoiding Firestarter or fire-based loadouts lately, it is time to get your crew back together and hit the vaults.
