Blizzard has officially deployed a hotfix to address the frustrating keybinding bug that surfaced with the launch of Season 2 in Overwatch. For players who found their universal and hero-specific configurations reset or broken, the fix is currently live for those playing on PC via Battle.net and Steam.
Keybind issues are more than just a minor annoyance in a fast-paced shooter; they are a direct hit to muscle memory. Whether you use custom layouts for Lucio's wall ride or specific sensitivity toggles for Widowmaker, the Season 2 bug essentially forced many players back to default settings or prevented them from saving new changes entirely. While PC players can now jump back in and re-verify their settings, console players on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch will need to wait just a bit longer. Blizzard expects the console deployment to follow within the next few days.
This technical fix arrives during the height of the Operation: Grand Mesa event. If you haven't checked it out yet, the event features the newest hero, Sierra, and offers a variety of challenges to tackle. Speaking of challenges, keep an eye on your progress trackers—new event challenges for Operation: Grand Mesa are set to unlock in six days, offering more opportunities to earn rewards by simply playing games.
If you are on PC, make sure your client is updated to the latest version to ensure your control configurations stay locked in. Console players should keep an eye out for a small patch download shortly to resolve the issue on their end.
