The headline addition is the Sulfur Caves biome, a subterranean environment that introduces a distinct hazard for explorers. Within these yellow-tinged depths, players will encounter the Sulfur Cube, a new mob that has already received visual tweaks based on early feedback. The cube now sports freckles and updated textures to ensure it stands out against the backdrop of the new Cinnabar and Sulfur block sets.
Survivalists and builders have plenty of new toys to experiment with. The update introduces Potent Sulfur, which can be used to create bubbling pools that emit noxious gas, adding a layer of environmental danger to custom builds or mob farms. The chiseled cinnabar blocks have also been refined, specifically making the spider iconography clearer for those using the set for decorative storytelling.
Beyond the new content, this patch tackles several long-standing technical hurdles. Significant fixes have been deployed for Xbox users experiencing issues with Vibrant Visuals, and the /loot command has been stabilized to prevent execution failures. For the technical community, the API has expanded with new capabilities like Dimension.spawnXp and Player.chatNamePrefix, offering more control for add-on creators and server admins.
This preview is currently available for testing on PC, consoles, and mobile devices. As these features are part of an experimental drop, expect further balancing to the noxious gas mechanics and Sulfur Cube behavior before they hit the stable version of the game.
