The headline addition is the Antarctic Base, a frigid environment that sets the stage for the new Scavenger enemy types and the formidable Alpha Scavenger boss. To help deal with these new threats, players can now equip the Tekko Kagi claws for close-quarters shredding or the M-97 Trenchgun for classic crowd control. The update also introduces the "Long Game Length" mode for teams who want to test their endurance across extended sessions.
Beyond the new toys, the mechanical changes are what really matter for the meta. Tripwire has refined the bash mechanics, making melee interrupts more reliable. Perhaps most importantly, the game now reveals which boss you'll be facing before the final wave starts, allowing your squad to pivot their loadouts and perks specifically for that encounter. Bloat Mines also now auto-clear after rounds, removing those annoying leftovers that used to plague transition phases.
Combat tuning has seen a significant pass as well. Weapons like the Dragon's Breath and Vulcan have been rebalanced to ensure they stay viable without being OP, while Zed health and damage scaling have been tweaked to keep the challenge consistent. With the Season 3 Narrative Campaign and a new Supply Pass now active, there is a lot of progression to grind through while you master the new weapon set.
