The headline addition is the Hammerhead, the third player ship to join the fleet. Designed for crews who prefer firepower over finesse, it boasts high health, two dedicated gunner seats, and four special weapon slots. If you've felt underpowered during heavy fleet engagements, this tanky vessel is your new best friend, especially with its built-in bonuses to damage and ammo efficiency.
We are also seeing the end of the old "MK" loot system. Keepsake Games has replaced it with a much more rewarding Blueprint and Module architecture. Instead of hunting for pre-built gear, you'll now scavenge Blueprints and Ingots to craft and upgrade your equipment. Modules act as slot-in perks, allowing for actual build diversity rather than just chasing a higher number. This adds a layer of strategy to exploration—finding that one rare module could be the difference between a successful extraction and a total wipe.
Survival mechanics have been tightened with the new Ship and Crew Life System. The game now distinguishes between Core Lives (your ship's survival) and Crew Lives (player respawns). To offset the increased risk, a new Hull Repair Tool has been added, giving engineers a more active role in keeping the ship together during chaotic dogfights.
Finally, the quality-of-life improvements are massive. Hotjoining is now fully functional, meaning friends can jump into your session instantly without forcing a lobby restart. If you've been waiting to recruit a full crew, Jump Space is also 20% off during the Steam Summer Sale from June 25th through July 9th.
