Developer EKO Software has pulled back the curtain on the next major free content update, focusing on how players will refine their builds once they've tasted dragon blood. The standout addition is the Unique Weapons system. Unlike standard loot that might just tweak a specific skill, these Uniques are designed with flexible passive effects. This means they won't force you into a single playstyle, but rather provide powerful utility that can be adapted across various character builds on the Ancestral Grid.
To give us a place to actually use these new toys, the update introduces The Dracomundus Purgatory. This is a randomized endgame activity that serves as the primary farming ground for both Draconics and the new Unique items. For those of us grinding for the perfect stat spread, having a dedicated, high-stakes environment for loot progression is a massive win for the game's longevity.
Beyond the gear chase, the update is packing some heavy-hitting technical features. Cross-play is officially arriving, allowing heroes on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S to squad up regardless of platform. We're also getting the City Transfer feature, which finally bridges the gap between offline and online modes, letting you move your progress without losing your city's hard-earned improvements.
While we don't have a firm release date yet, the developers have confirmed that new cosmetic armor sets will launch alongside the update as optional DLC. Between the QoL optimizations and the new loot hunt, this patch looks like it will provide the depth needed to keep the meta fresh well after the four Ancestral Dragons have fallen.
