For a game where character builds are fueled by the blood of Ancestral Dragons and the resources gathered from their minions, the City serves as the vital heartbeat of your progression. Until now, players often felt locked into their initial choice of playstyle. The new City Transfer feature mirrors the existing character transfer system, ensuring your hard-earned city level, gold, and accumulated resources move with you regardless of whether you want to hunt solo or join the community online.
There are some technical nuances to how this works, particularly regarding the shared chest. If you are moving a city from Offline to Online, your shared chest comes with you. However, moving from Online to Offline excludes the shared chest to maintain the integrity of local save files. It is also important to note that only the City owner can trigger these transfers; if you are a guest in someone else's world, you will need to coordinate with the host or focus on your own realm's progression.
This update is a major win for build diversity and experimentation. Since the Ancestral Grid system relies heavily on the loot and upgrades you manage within your city, being able to transition that progress into an online cooperative environment—or pull it back for some focused solo grinding—removes the friction of starting over. Your story progress and resource pools remain intact, keeping the focus where it belongs: on the hunt for the four Ancestral Dragons.
