The biggest shift for objective-focused players is the separation of Urn Running. Previously tied into the capture point logic, Urn Running is now its own distinct objective with specific rules for carrying and depositing. This change adds another layer of tactical macro-play, forcing teams to decide between contesting the Unstable Rift or committing resources to a successful Urn delivery.
Combat pacing is also seeing a massive adjustment. Valve has implemented a global 15% nerf to all ultimate base and upgrade cooldowns. This means you can't rely on your most powerful abilities as frequently, placing a higher premium on neutral game skill and basic ability management. To compensate for the slower ability tempo, mobility is getting a significant buff. The Dash Jump mechanics have been overhauled with an increased input window, better distance, and higher vertical impulse, making the movement meta feel more fluid and responsive.
Hero balance hasn't been ignored either. Apollo users will notice an increased Riposte range, while Billy's raw damage output has been toned down. Shiv has also received a mechanical overhaul that changes his playstyle significantly. Between the global ultimate nerfs and these hero-specific tweaks, the current meta is in for a serious shakeup as players adapt to longer windows of vulnerability between big team fights.
