This shift toward the ocean is exactly what the community has been asking for since the fight against Pax Armata began. While the current Season 3 content update, featuring the Cairo Bazaar (a rework of the classic Grand Bazaar), drops on June 9, all eyes are now on the July launch of Season 4. The introduction of dedicated naval maps suggests a return to the strategic depth where attack boats and carriers act as mobile spawn points, fundamentally changing how Dagger 1-3 squads will have to approach objectives.
Beyond the new toys and maps, DICE is finally addressing long-standing social and technical requests. Proximity chat is slated for late Season 4, which will undoubtedly lead to some chaotic (and hilarious) interactions with enemy squads. However, the real heavy hitters arrive in Season 5: a dedicated Server Browser and the return of Platoons. For competitive players and community clans, these features are the lifeblood of longevity, allowing for curated experiences that matchmaking simply can't replicate.
Gunplay is also getting a pass in the upcoming Season 3 Phase 3 update. Expect changes to limb multipliers and recoil patterns designed to reward precision. Meanwhile, map enthusiasts can look forward to "Battlefield Labs" testing for Blackwell Fields and New Sobek improvements. It's clear DICE is playing the long game here, focusing on the mechanical foundations while leaning into the franchise's historical strengths—massive scale and vehicular synergy.
