Patch 1.29.0 introduces Ermal, a new Trader who expands the local economy and offers fresh opportunities for those brave enough to venture topside. Alongside Ermal comes the Rascal, a new weapon designed to help you handle the machine threat with a bit more punch. For those who prefer a subtler approach, the Photoelectric Cloak has received a massive buff; its power consumption has been slashed from 10/s down to 5/s, effectively doubling your stealth uptime and opening up entirely new tactical routes through ARC-controlled territory.
Combat against the game's mechanical titans should feel a bit more consistent now. Embark Studios has tweaked the AI for the Queen and Matriarch, allowing them to step over environmental clutter more effectively. This change is aimed at reducing those frustrating instances of "unfair" knockback where players were getting hit simply because the AI's pathing got hung up on a piece of scrap. Additionally, the physics-defying bug that caused Raiders to teleport when standing on destroyed ARC parts has finally been squashed.
Quality of life hasn't been ignored either. The update improves the Extended Barrel mod and introduces a streamlined social feature that allows you to block players immediately after reporting them—a welcome addition for keeping the community focused on the scavenge. Keep an eye out for the Sheath Set arriving in early June to further customize your kitbashed look.
