This milestone marks the introduction of Paradiso, the final world in the game's journey through the afterlife. Inspired by Dante's Divine Comedy, Paradiso shifts away from the fire and brimstone of Inferno toward a more abstract, ethereal landscape. While the core game supports 33-player raids, Paradiso is specifically designed for 11-player groups, demanding tighter coordination and a different tactical approach than the earlier stages of the uprising.
The highlight of this new realm is the encounter with the Wrath of God. Unlike the bosses in Inferno that prioritize raw destruction and high DPS checks, this final confrontation heavily incorporates puzzle mechanics. Players will need to use their wits as much as their weapons to survive God's final judgment. It’s a bold shift for an action-roguelike, moving the meta toward utility and communication over pure hack-and-slash aggression.
For those currently fighting through the Steam demo, there is excellent news: your progress will carry over to the 1.0 release. Any XP, unlocks, or soul progression earned during the demo period will remain intact when the full version launches this Summer. This gives renegades a significant head start in the immortal rebellion, ensuring that every successful run in the current build contributes to your eventual assault on the heavens.
Why Paradiso changes the meta
The transition to 11-player instances for Paradiso suggests a move toward more specialized roles. In a 33-player chaos, individual mistakes can be absorbed by the crowd, but in an 11-player puzzle boss fight, every soul counts. We expect to see a rise in support-focused builds and crowd control as players adapt to these abstract monsters and complex mechanics.
