This content is an add-on designed to integrate directly into the existing grand strategy experience of the core title. The primary gameplay loop remains centered on guiding a chosen civilization from the ancient era through to the future, managing expansion, technological advancement, cultural influence, and military strength across a procedurally generated world map.

What does this add to the game?

The central feature of this pass is the introduction of 12 entirely new leaders. Each new leader brings a distinct set of unique abilities, agendas, and starting bonuses, fundamentally altering the optimal approach to playing that specific civilization. This requires players to adapt their long-term strategic planning, whether focusing on science, religion, culture, or domination.

Alternative Leader Experiences

Beyond the new faces, the content also provides six alternative versions for leaders already present in the base game. These alternative takes offer a complete rework of the leader's personality and strategic focus. For example, a leader previously focused on military conquest might now possess abilities that strongly favor economic or diplomatic victory conditions, encouraging veteran players to re-evaluate familiar empires.
