As a third-person shooter released in 2003, you step into the role of NYPD detective Max Payne, navigating a dark conspiracy alongside Mona Sax. Gameplay centers on intense firefights where you utilize an expanding arsenal—from pistols to sniper rifles—often enhanced by cinematic action mechanics. The story unfolds through Max's internal monologue, guiding you through betrayal and mystery. This title offers a focused narrative experience, occasionally letting you control Mona Sax, and is recognized for its gritty, neo-noir presentation.
The gameplay centers on intense, action-oriented combat sequences from a third-person perspective. Players engage enemies using a wide array of weaponry that unlocks as the story progresses. The arsenal spans from the starting 9mm pistol to shotguns, submachine guns, assault rifles, and sniper rifles, supplemented by hand-thrown weapons.
A defining feature of the combat system involves highly stylized action sequences that allow players to control the flow of firefights through specific movement mechanics. The primary loop involves moving through linear environments, engaging hostile forces, and utilizing Max's internal narration to advance the plot.
Set two years after previous events, the protagonist has cleared his name following a murder frame-up. Now working as an NYPD detective, Max reunites with Mona Sax, a figure from his past. Their shared path leads them into the heart of a deep conspiracy involving death and betrayal, centered around an organization known as the Inner Circle.
The narrative relies heavily on Max's perspective, using his voice-over narration to deliver plot exposition and establish the game's brooding, hard-boiled tone. While Max Payne is the primary playable character, the experience is occasionally broadened, as players assume control of Mona Sax during specific segments of the campaign.
The game’s distinct appeal lies in its fusion of a gritty, cinematic narrative style—reminiscent of neo-noir cinema—with its specific action mechanics. The reliance on Max's internal monologue to drive the plot forward creates an intimate connection between the player and the protagonist's troubled state. This focus on narrative delivery alongside moment-to-moment third-person shooting sets its tone within the genre.
Players begin with basic sidearms and gradually gain access to a comprehensive arsenal suitable for various combat distances. This progression ensures that tactical choices regarding weapon loadout remain relevant throughout the campaign.
This title is presented as a main game release. There are no officially released downloadable content packs or expansions associated with this version.
The content of this game is suitable for persons aged 18 years and over only. It contains: Extreme violence

Part Man. Part Machine. All Cop. The future of law enforcement. RoboCop TC allows you to play as Robocop. We tried to mix the more modern style from the 2014 movie with the brutality from the classic 1984 movie by Paul Verhoeven.

This project is a fan-made remake of The Thing, reimagined inside the original Max Payne engine, Max-FX. The aim is to blend the atmospheric survival horror of John Carpenter’s iconic 1982 film with the gritty, noir-infused mechanics and visuals of Max Payne. Built entirely on the Max-FX framework, the remake leverages its detailed particle effects, real-time lighting, and scripted event system to recreate the paranoia, tension, and claustrophobic environments of an Antarctic research station under siege by a shape-shifting alien lifeform. Players will experience a narrative-driven single-player campaign where exploration, environmental storytelling, and scripted scares replace Max Payne’s traditional urban gunfights. Combat will be sparse and deliberate, emphasizing resource management and the fear of not knowing who to trust. The mod will include newly modeled environments inspired by the film’s Outpost 31, custom character models and animations, dynamic weather effects.

7th Serpent is a third-person shooter modification for the Max Payne 2 game engine thrusting players into a world of corruption, secrecy and vengeance as they control Damon Pryce - the main character - who has been subjected to experimental testing and is left to his own devices in order to extract the truth from those who keep it from him.

"In a futuristic world, a strict regime has eliminated war by suppressing emotions: books, art and music are strictly forbidden and feeling is a crime punishable by death. Cleric John Preston is a top ranking government agent responsible for destroying those who resist the rules. When he misses a dose of Prozium, a mind-altering drug that hinders emotion, Preston, who has been trained to enforce the strict laws of the new regime, suddenly becomes the only person capable of overthrowing it" The modification is loosely based on the movie "Equilibrium" with the main focus of the work being based upon implementing a new combat system similar to the "gun kata" seen in some of the action scenes of the movie. The "Gun Kata" allows the player to take on several adversaries at the same time with dual weapons and gun them down in unison, much like what we see in the action movies of today where the hero wields dual handguns and shoots at different targets with each hand. This sort of stylish gun battle is what you can expect to see once the mod is released to the public. The mod's focus is pure action and style, if you like shooting enemies and gunning them down in the coolest way possible then this mod just might be what you've always been looking for!
