This 2010 music game for the Wii requires up to four players to follow on-screen choreography using the Wii Remote. The core loop involves mimicking dance moves to classic tracks. Distinct features include "Duets" for synchronized play, "Dance Battle Mode" for team competition, and "Just Sweat Mode," which tracks energy expenditure for fitness goals. Gameplay also offers non-stop shuffling and mixed song medleys.
The fundamental gameplay loop involves matching the on-screen dancer's movements as accurately as possible to score points. Each player requires one Wii Remote to track their performance. This title introduces several distinct ways to experience the dance floor.
The game expands upon the original formula by offering diverse gameplay structures:
This is the standard, free-form mode where players can select songs and dance for as long as they wish, focusing purely on enjoyment and practice.
For continuous action, Non-Stop Shuffle offers uninterrupted gameplay. Alternatively, Medleys allow players to experience short, mixed segments of five songs back-to-back.
A cooperative mode designed for two players, Duets requires synchronized movement, encouraging players to pay closer attention to their partner's actions rather than solely focusing on the on-screen prompts.
This mode supports up to eight players competing in teams. The overall team score is calculated based on the individual scores achieved by each member during the dance segments.
A dedicated feature called Just Sweat Mode transforms the experience into a structured workout. This mode allows players to measure the energy expended during their dance sessions and set specific objectives to be met, providing a quantifiable measure of physical activity.
As a main game released in 2010, this title does not feature any downloadable content (DLCs), expansions, remakes, or remasters available post-launch. The content included at release represents the complete package.
