The 2.2 update was notorious for falling into developement hell, taking close to 7 years to actually release. When it finally released, the update included a new level, "dash", a new gamemode, the swing, the platformer mode, new orbs such as the teleport orb, many new triggers such as camera control, among many other features.

Geometry Dash 2.2 released a brand new way to play Geometry Dash, platformer mode. Platformer Mode now allows players to move at their own pace navigating tough corridors and fighting different bosses.

The Geometry Dash 2.1 brought a new official level: fingerdash, along many other additions to the game, such as the spider gamemode, daily levels, quests, gauntlets, new icons, different demon ratings, among many other new adduitions

The 2.0 update for Geometry Dash was the biggest update to the game at the time. Including two new levels, Geometrical Dominator and Deadlocked, it also introduces the robot gamemode, move and opacity triggers, user coins, social features such as player profiles, and many other changes.

The 1.9 update for geometry dash was at the time of the release, the biggest and more influential update to the game. It included the brand new wave gamemode, the ability to use songs uploaded to newgrounds, two new main levels (Blast Processing and Theory Of Everything 2), new blocks, icons, among other things.
