The gameplay loop integrates moment-to-moment first-person shooting mechanics with strategic ability usage tied to the chosen Legend. Success often relies on coordinating these abilities within the team structure.

Distinctive Features and Progression

A notable system within the game involves Legend Upgrades, allowing players to enhance their chosen character's armor and specific abilities dynamically during a match. This adds a layer of in-game progression beyond initial loadout selection.

The game offers several ways to play. The standard Battle Royale format emphasizes large-scale survival, while the dedicated Ranked mode focuses heavily on competitive combat scenarios. Additionally, the Mixtape playlist provides rotating, smaller-scale arena experiences, such as the Thunderdome arena, which offers continuous action outside the main Battle Royale structure.
