The Legend of Zelda: Ancient Dungeon is a completely new way to play the original The Legend of Zelda on NES. This romhack makes The Legend of Zelda play like a roguelike. Venture through a randomized, ever-changing dungeon with progressive difficulty the further you go. Collect classic items and upgrades, and battle familiar foes throughout your journey. Every playthrough is different. Ganon is lurking deep within the dungeon, but beware, for if you perish, you’ll have to start all over from the beginning. Are you up to the challenge?

This hack provides a new quest for the Legend of Zelda (NES). It changes many parts of the game while staying true to the original. It features brand new graphics and new dungeons. All level entrances have been relocated, secrets in the overworld are moved, and there are many overworld surprises.

This hack is truly a brand new Zelda experience and one that is unrecognizable next to the original game. This hack is very non-linear, as the dungeons are not numbered in quest 1. The dungeons can be beaten in numerous random orders. Any region can be explored from the start, and players can get a good advantage early on by venturing to certain areas first. The second quest is the total opposite and is entirely linear. There is no possible way to beat the dungeons out of order. Just know that if Darknuts or Wizzrobes are seen in the beginning, then save that dungeon for after the others. Play wisely, exploration is rewarded.

Celebrating the 35th Anniversary since the release of the original Legend of Zelda on the Famicom Disk System on February 21st, 1986; and continuing over from the Zelda II Redux hack, The Legend of Zelda Redux (or Zelda 1 Redux) aims to tackle some of the odd designs and programming decisions from the original NES classic to revitalize and give new life to the beloved and cherished classic. This hack tries to address a lot of points to make the game fit with the rest of the series (and Zelda 2 Redux) by doing some rebalancing and QoL changes, and also some visual flare into the game, without compromising the original game’s design. Be sure to check the full Changelog inside the ReadMe file for the full list of changes made to this hack, and also don’t forget to check the optional patches too!

While this one is not a full remake of Zelda games like what happen to Link’s Awakening, but rather a remastered of The Legend of Zelda original game released for NES back in 1986 to HD using the latest and closest graphics, music and sound to newer Legend of Zelda games, this game is certainly not something to be missed for all Zelda fans and especially to those who never really have a chance playing the original game.

The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Power, is a Zelda 1 hack that takes place after 2 years after Zelda 2. It is the first in the Zelda: Triforce Power Saga, which will be a 3 part trilogy of games. Also, this hack will be much harder than the original Zelda game.

This is a combination randomizer for the original NES Legend of Zelda and Metroid games. The randomizer combines the two classics into a unified gaming experience, which allows gameplay to seamlessly switch from one game to the other via special portals added to each game. In addition, equipment and items from each game are shuffled across both worlds, creating a unique challenge where you aren't just completing one game and then the other, but one where you will have to transition between them several times in order to finish both.

Have you ever wanted to replay the Legend of Zelda, but played it so often that you can't get it out of your head? Similar to many other randomizers out there, this can shuffle the game as you like to allow you to re-experience Zelda each time that you play it.

The Legend of Zelda: Outlands, also known as Zelda Challenge: Outlands, is a ROM hack of The Legend of Zelda (NES). It changes the whole game map with a new one, with new dungeons and challenges.

BS Zelda no Densetsu Map 2 is a sequel to BS Zelda no Densetsu, released for the Super Famicom add-on Satellaview. It is a reimagining of the original The Legend of Zelda for the NES. The player's avatar is the BS-X avatar, not Link. The game was broadcast through the Satellaview service as was Soundlink compatible, meaning it had orchestral music, narration and specific timed events.
