An FE6 Rom hack starring the villains. The story has been rewritten in its entirety. Follow Zephiel and his jolly cadre of war criminals as they conquer the entirety of Elibe in a tale that is sometimes humorous, sometimes dead serious. Every single playable character from the game has been replaced by a boss and every boss is now a former Elibean playable or ally.

The goal of this project is to take all the amazing hacks from the Fire Emblem GBA hacking community and put them into the base game experience. These are designed for veteran players and newcomers alike! The changes are designed to be uncontroversial enough so that this isn’t seen as an “alternate” way to play the game but an “enhanced” way. The major changes are QOL and bugfixes. The only gameplay changes come from removing localization changes. An overhaul of Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade, Project Ember looks to tweak and alter various mechanics of Fire Emblem 6 to create a unique and different experience from the original title. Ranging from unit rebalancing from their bases to growths, to giving various units preferred weapons, altering the promotion of the main protagonist Roy, adjusting how archers work, altering the story in slight ways, as well as altering various details in the maps. Project Ember furthermore adds a new Maniac difficulty to push the various mechanical changes the game enforces to their limits.


In May of 2015, Something Awful user Vilkacis would do a let's play thread of Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade, albeit with a twist. Vilkacis had some degree of experience with hacking Fire Emblem games and would make changes to the game such as making Noah a dark mage with the portrait of a Phantasy Star character, giving Ogier a speed growth that's over 100%, and making Zephiel one of the most overtuned boss fights in the series. Roy's Bizarre Adventure is the final version of this hack that was released in the thread's final update.
