This mod will let you play Super Mario Sunshine with a friend. The second player is Shadow Mario.

Mario travels to the beautiful Isle Delfino for a tropical vacation with his friends, but instead finds himself teaming up with trusty F.L.U.D.D. to uncover a shadowy plot and the master puppeteer behind it all. His newfound friend also allows Mario to traverse worlds in all sorts of unique ways thanks to its wonderful water pump!

Super Mario Sunburn is a Super Mario Sunshine mod that adds free open-world travel between stages, free chapter order in stages, Blue Coins in multiple chapters, more coins in each stage, custom stages, custom endgame conditions, and various other minor features.

Super Mario Arcade 2 is a mod for Super Mario Sunshine that contains 96 unique levels that are similar to the secret levels in sunshine. 48 of those levels are from the original. Also in each level, there is a blue coin as an extra challenge. Don't worry about collecting them all, since they aren't worth anything. You can always collect them at the end.

Super Mario Sunshine Arcade is a hack/mod of Super Mario Sunshine, hacked by Augs with help from others and released in October of 2018. The mod is a more linear, arcade adventure where Mario must travel through levels inspired by the original game's secret levels.
