Reactions to violence are realistic, with characters screaming in pain and wounds appearing on their bodies. There are some 'execution-style' moves, which feature strong blood and gore. The game also features violence towards defenceless characters, including the ability to lasso and tie up innocent people, on whom violence can then be inflicted. This includes dragging them behind horses, leaving them on train tracks and throwing them into water to drown. The player can also attack and kill multiple civilian characters using any of the weapons at their disposal. There is frequent use of strong language ('fuck') as well as discriminatory terms, such as the 'n' word. The player is able to bet on and partake in various games of chance, such as poker and blackjack. All of these games feature in depth instructions informing the player of the rules and how to bet.
