Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 is a remake of the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, bundled in the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 collection.

The sequel to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater adds many new tricks while retaining those from the original, and a complete roster of the greatest skaters worldwide. Among the new tricks is the "manual", which allows the player character to balance on two wheels. There are also more options for scoring high-trick combos. Trick combinations can also be edited and customized. It is possible to visit some of the most popular skate parks in the world, or create your own areas and share them with other players. Players can also create their own skaters, with a choice of clothing and official skateboards.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2x was designed to take full advantage of the technical capabilities of Xbox. The game features the franchise's signature gameplay, intuitive controls, all of the levels from both Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, in addition to more populated environments, brand new levels, realistic special effects and smoother lifelike animations. The inclusion of system link gameplay brings the skateboarding experience to life.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2's Nintendo 64 version was developed by Edge of Reality, who developed the Nintendo 64 port of the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. The Nintendo 64 version includes all of the features from the PlayStation version plus an additional level however it lacks the FMVs featured on other versions as well as having some content censored such as the soundtrack.
