Washington D.C. may be perpetually collapsing, but even Division Agents need a holiday distraction. The Winter Event 2025 has officially launched in Tom Clancy's The Division 2, running from December 16, 2025, through January 6, 2026. This year, the focus is squarely on hunting down the terrifying new enemy type, Krampus, and contributing to a massive global community goal.
Instead of relying on Santa, Agents are now tasked with taking down the Krampuslauf enemies, who are dropping Winter Keys. These keys are the currency of the event, determining not only your personal cosmetic haul but whether the entire player base unlocks the coveted White Krampus Outfit.
Hunting the Krampuslauf and Earning Your Keys
The Krampus enemy is essentially a seasonal bounty, appearing during normal gameplay throughout the map. Taking one down guarantees you a Winter Key. If you prefer a more focused hunt, you can also earn keys by completing specific Bounties. The keys are essential because they feed directly into the Event Vendor, offering three distinct types of caches:
- Winter Apparel Caches: Focused entirely on cosmetics and event-exclusive clothing.
- Winter Gameplay Caches: Containing gear, weapons, and upgrade materials to improve your build.
- Winter Community Caches: These are the special ones, holding rewards that contribute to the global goal.
How Does the Community Challenge Work?
This is the biggest draw of the event. The entire global community must collectively donate 1,000,000 Winter Keys into the Community Cache pool. If this gargantuan goal is met before the event ends on January 6, 2026, every single player who participated will receive the White Krampus Outfit—a fantastic way to show off your dedication to saving D.C., even during the holidays.
Extra Loot for Dedicated Agents
For those of you who spend your holidays grinding high-end PvE content, there's a specific, sought-after cosmetic available. The new Julmust Hunter mask has been added as a potential drop on The Summit, specifically on floor 100. This gives dedicated high-tier Agents a reason to tackle the toughest challenges D.C. has to offer.
Furthermore, if you are planning on watching your favorite streamers save D.C., a new Twitch Drops campaign is running from December 16, 2025, to December 26, 2025. Watching enough eligible content will net you extra cosmetic rewards and loot caches, making it easy to stack up on gear while contributing to the global key count. Make sure you link your accounts and get ready to gear up—D.C. won't save itself.
