Scheduled for maintenance on April 9, this patch introduces the Smasher Loadout set. Consisting of a bandana, top, bottom, hand wrap, and foot wrap, this gear is obtainable directly from the Smashers roaming the Liberty Grand Center. For players looking to optimize their early-to-mid-game builds, hunting these specific threats just became a priority for more than just survival.
One of the most significant shifts for squad play involves the spectate system. Moving forward, the spectate mode will be automatically disabled once all allies have been eliminated. Instead of lingering in the perspective of a hostile player or an empty room, you'll be moved directly to the results screen. This streamlines the transition back to your hideout, keeping the pace of play tight and focused on getting back into the next raid.
Technical refinements are also hitting the matchmaking UI. The matchmaking button will now display an "Entering" status once a game is found. This change effectively locks in your deployment, preventing accidental cancellations during the critical moment of server entry. It’s a small but necessary tweak to ensure instance stability and player counts remain consistent.
The update also addresses several community-reported bugs that were impacting the RPG side of the experience:
- Fixed a UI bug where long mail titles would overflow the container.
- Resolved an issue preventing the Enhanced Crowbar from being equipped correctly.
- Optimized server communication during peak extraction windows.
As usual with The Midnight Walkers, make sure to clear out of your raid before the maintenance window begins to avoid losing your hard-earned loot to the server shutdown.
