For too long, Hircine’s chosen have struggled with the clunky logistics of staying in form. ZeniMax is finally addressing this by completely removing the out-of-combat sustain cost. This means you can actually enjoy your beast form between skirmishes without the constant anxiety of your timer ticking down while you navigate the terrain.
The visual side of the transformation is getting a massive boost as well. Feedback about the current models looking a bit dated has led to a 20% size increase for werewolves, along with denser fur coverage and distinct male and female models. These aren't just cosmetic tweaks; they come with entirely new animations and SFX to make the predatory experience feel visceral and modern.
Mechanically, the update introduces two game-changing features: Prowl and Slaughter. Prowl acts as a stealth override, allowing werewolves to finally utilize tactical positioning. Meanwhile, Slaughter introduces a new synergy ability that should significantly increase the skill line's lethality in group play. A new Ultimate ability is also being added to round out the kit, giving players more options than the standard transformation loop.
This overhaul feels like a direct response to players who felt the Werewolf meta had fallen behind the versatility of Vampires or modern Arcanist builds. By removing the friction of form maintenance and adding genuine utility through Prowl, being a lycanthrope in Tamriel is about to become a much more viable playstyle for both solo adventurers and dungeon runners.
