The days of hoarding Event Tickets are officially over in The Elder Scrolls Online. ZeniMax Online is rolling out a major shift to the collector economy, replacing the old system with a permanent, persistent currency called Trade Bars, earned through standard gameplay. This change is huge for players who constantly felt locked out of past event rewards.
This transition begins with Update 49 on March 9, 2026. If you have a stash of Event Tickets saved up, don't panic: they will be automatically converted at a rate of 1 Ticket to 100 Trade Bars. This establishes Trade Bars as the new primary currency for acquiring previously released event collectibles, including those elusive Indrik mounts or fragments for mythical beasts.
The Trade Bars will be spent at the Gold Coast Bazaar, a new storefront arriving on March 25, 2026. It makes perfect sense to situate this bustling new exchange in the Gold Coast, a region renowned for its trade routes and shady dealings during the tumultuous Second Era. Instead of waiting for the seasonal festivals, this new hub provides a consistent way to catch up on items you missed.
Initially, the Bazaar will offer a limited selection, but the full catalog of approximately 100 rewards—including both evergreen favorites and rotating seasonal items—will land with the start of Season Zero on April 2, 2026. Crucially, Trade Bars are earned through the Tamriel Tome (the game’s progress track) and other gameplay methods. This means your efforts are always contributing toward a coveted item, and unlike some other currencies, Trade Bars cannot be purchased with Crowns. This keeps the chase firmly rooted in playing the game, which is exactly how these rewards should be earned in The Elder Scrolls Online.
This move is a welcome change for veteran collectors and new adventurers alike, transforming what was a stressful, time-gated system into a steady progression path toward owning a piece of ESO history.
