The factories are getting festive again. The annual FICS*MAS holiday event has officially returned to Satisfactory, bringing giant falling gifts and seasonal production lines back to the game. For the first time ever, this event is also live on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, meaning console engineers finally get to experience the chaos of integrating holiday cheer into their optimized logistics networks.
FICS*MAS 2025 Schedule and Console Debut
If you have been playing on PC for years, you know the drill: giant gifts fall from the sky, and you have a new tech tree to unlock. However, this year marks a significant milestone as the event runs simultaneously across all platforms following the game's console release in September. The event is live right now and runs through January 18, 2026.
For console players seeing this for the first time, FICS*MAS isn't just cosmetic. It introduces a temporary production loop where you harvest gifts to produce decorations, snowballs (which function as safer Nobelisks), and unique building parts. It adds a layer of logistical complexity on top of your standard iron and copper processing.
Why did the gifts stop falling?
A common point of confusion for new participants involves the gift drops. If you notice the sky has stopped raining presents, check your factory. The game mechanics automatically stop spawning falling gifts once you have built 10 Gift Trees. At that point, your production is expected to be self-sustaining through the trees themselves, so you won't need to hunt for crates in the wild anymore.
Building Competition and Fixes
Coffee Stain Studios is running a "FICS*MAS workshop / Santa’s Grotto" building competition alongside the in-game event. If you have an eye for aesthetics over pure efficiency, you have until January 9, 2026, to submit your designs. This is a shorter window than the event itself, so don't wait until the final week to start laying foundations.
The update also addresses a specific issue for returning players regarding the Advent Calendar. If you were having trouble acquiring rewards from the calendar, this patch has resolved those triggers. Additionally, if you prefer your factory to remain strictly utilitarian, you can disable the entire seasonal event in the main menu settings—though you'll miss out on the festive skins.
