With less than two weeks until Early Access kicks off for Premium Edition owners, Playground Games has pulled back the curtain on the technical specs and the massive audio experience awaiting us in Japan. The most immediate win for players is the confirmation of two distinct rendering modes on Xbox Series X|S. You can opt for Quality Mode, which delivers a native 4K experience at 30fps, or Performance Mode, which targets a crisp 60fps by utilizing scaling resolution. For a high-speed racer, that 60fps target is going to be the gold standard for most of us hitting the touge runs.
The soundtrack is also the largest in franchise history, spanning 9 radio stations. For the first time, the festival is embracing its setting with dedicated J-pop debuts, alongside returning staples like Horizon Bass Arena and Horizon XS. Whether you're drifting through neon-lit streets or tearing up rural mountain passes, the audio backdrop is designed to be as diverse as the Japanese landscape itself.
Playground is also doubling down on accessibility. The launch includes a new High Contrast Mode and Proximity Radar to help more players navigate the world, with post-launch updates already planned to include ASL and BSL support for cinematics. If you've been a loyal fan, check your garage at launch; playing previous Forza titles will net you a collection of loyalty reward cars to jumpstart your career.
Pre-ordering the game also secures the Ferrari J50, a perfect ride for exploring the open world when the festival finally opens its gates on May 19, 2026.
