Forza Horizon 6 is turning the Horizon Festival into a permanent home with the introduction of Customizable Garages and "The Estate." No longer just a menu to swap cars, your garage is now a fully realized, physical space in Japan that you can decorate with props and show off to the community.
The move toward player expression is the clear focus here. The Estate serves as a massive building canvas where players can place assets, design layouts, and share their creations. This shift from simple racing to "lifestyle" simulation adds a layer of persistence the series has lacked, giving you a reason to interact with the world beyond just hitting apexes on a mountain pass.
EventLab is also seeing its most significant overhaul to date. The new Horizon CoLab feature allows for real-time multiplayer building, meaning you and your friends can construct tracks and stunt parks simultaneously. To make the process less tedious, Playground Games is finally adding highly requested quality-of-life tools, including:
- Horizon CoLab: Real-time collaborative building with friends.
- Undo/Redo: A long-overdue safety net for complex builds.
- Stamp Functionality: Quickly duplicate and place complex asset groups.
- Build Anywhere: You are no longer restricted to specific starting points to begin creating.
Interestingly, the Super7 challenges are being folded directly into the EventLab ecosystem. By moving these to the EventLab menu, they benefit from the entire new toolset, which should lead to much more creative and technically impressive community challenges than we saw in previous titles.
The race begins on May 19, 2026, for PC and Xbox Series X|S. If you are looking for a head start, the Premium Edition grants early access beginning May 15. Pre-orders also include a pre-tuned Ferrari J50, a fitting tribute to the Japanese setting of this latest outing.
