Weapon reloads and movement animations are getting a much-needed layer of polish in the latest Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS2) update. Valve has targeted specific visual inconsistencies that have been bugging the community, alongside a critical fix for players experiencing random crashes during startup.
The most noticeable changes affect weapon handling and clarity. If you've been using the XM1014, you likely noticed shells flickering during the reload sequence; that's now been resolved. Similarly, the Dual Berettas have received fixes for bugs occurring in both first-person and spectator modes. A small but important visual tweak ensures that dropped silenced weapons now correctly display their silenced state on the ground, preventing any confusion during a mid-round scramble for gear.
Movement fidelity is also seeing significant improvements through ANIMGRAPH 2 and Foot IK smoothing. These technical adjustments address the awkward "leg snapping" that could occur when players suddenly stopped moving, as well as a frustrating bug where players could get stuck in a planted-turn state. To make the game feel more consistent, Valve has adjusted the first-person in-air crouch timing to better align with what other players see in the third-person perspective.
On the stability front, the update addresses a random startup crash tied to non-default audio device settings. This is a huge win for players using external DACs or specialized audio routing who were previously being locked out of the game. While this patch doesn't overhaul the meta, the combined weight of these animation and stability fixes makes for a much smoother competitive experience.
