Long-time players know the Hemlok has been feeling a bit too "smooth" lately. The developers agreed, noting that the weapon was overperforming in both recoil control and hipfire spread. To bring it back in line, this update significantly increases both horizontal and vertical recoil patterns, making those long-range burst shots much harder to land consistently without serious thumbstick or mouse discipline.
Perhaps more importantly for CQC encounters, the hipfire spread has been widened. Previously, the Hemlok could bail players out of tight spots with surprising accuracy from the hip; this nerf forces a more tactical approach, pushing the rifle back into its intended role as a precision mid-range tool rather than a do-it-all powerhouse.
Beyond weapon balance, the patch addresses a critical interaction between two of the game’s most iconic legends. A bug was preventing Wraith from being truly "safe" while in the void; specifically, her 'Into the Void' tactical was failing to block damage from Gibraltar’s Thunder Dome. This fix restores Wraith’s utility as a hard-reset scout, ensuring she can phase through the chaos of the Apex Games without taking unintended hits.
Fashion hunters can also breathe a sigh of relief. A frustrating issue where reactive skins—those prestigious rewards that evolve as you rack up kills—failed to function outside of the Firing Range has been resolved. Your hard-earned cosmetics will now properly flare up and transform during live matches once again.
