The biggest change for the veteran owner-operator is the introduction of new Damage and Finances widgets within the Route Advisor. Instead of digging through menus while hauling heavy cargo through Nevada, you can now track your truck's health and your bank balance at a glance. It’s a small change that significantly reduces friction during long-haul sessions.
For those times when the terrain gets the better of you, the new "Tow to Road" feature is a literal lifesaver. By hitting the F7 key, you can now pay a small fee to have your rig uprighted and placed back on the asphalt. This replaces the old, immersion-breaking method of having to tow all the way back to a service station just because of a minor tip-over or getting high-centered on a curb.
The Skills Screen has also undergone a complete visual overhaul. The new UX redesign makes visualizing your progression much clearer and, importantly, adds better support for controllers. This is a welcome change for those playing on Steam Deck or consoles who previously struggled with the mouse-heavy interface.
Audio enthusiasts will notice a significant shift in the cabin atmosphere. SCS Software has reworked traffic sounds to emphasize the "road hiss" and environmental ambiance over the constant drone of distant AI engines. This creates a much more realistic soundscape as you cruise through the desert. Note that the Detour feature has been temporarily disabled in this patch for maintenance, so expect a smoother, if slightly more predictable, route for the time being.
