If you've been avoiding the new Apiary mechanics due to technical hiccups, this patch is the green light you've been waiting for. The Fun Pimps have overhauled the Apiary logic to prevent the dreaded chunk corruption that was plaguing some saves. Interestingly, they've also swapped how bee swarms trigger; bees now spawn when you close the Apiary rather than when you open it. This change is a win for the modding community, as it allows for safer modifications to the block without breaking the spawn sequence.
For those of us who care as much about our post-apocalyptic drip as our base defense, the loot changes in this hotfix are the real highlight. The developers have reworked clothing loot lists to finally allow Quality 6 (Purple) items to drop in the world. They've also bumped up the overall drop chance for clothing, so you'll spend less time looking like a generic survivor and more time finding that perfect high-tier gear.
The update also addresses several community-reported bugs that were impacting immersion and performance:
- Vehicle Stability: The annoying camera stuttering while driving has been resolved for the driver, though passengers may still experience some jitters for now.
- Cosmetic Fixes: Female character models will no longer see shin guards clipping or displaying incorrectly, and the Hellreaver console spam has been silenced.
- World Integrity: Specific fixes for block-related crashes ensure that your fortified bases stay standing without threatening your save file's health.
While this is a smaller hotfix in terms of content, the fix for chunk corruption is vital for long-term survival runs. Getting your hands on Purple-tier clothing is a nice bonus that makes scavenging runs feel rewarding again as we prepare for the next blood moon.
