About Sonic Mania: Encore
This is an expansion for the retro platformer Sonic Mania, requiring the base game. Released in 2018, it enhances replayability by adding the new Encore Mode, which features visual palette swaps and altered item boxes across existing zones. The core gameplay loop is expanded with two new playable characters, Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel, each introducing unique traversal mechanics like a ground pound and gliding. Furthermore, it upgrades the competitive experience with a four-player Competition Mode.
