Makai Toushi SaGa is a 2002 remake of the 1989 foundational RPG, The Final Fantasy Legend, updated for the WonderSwan Color. You experience the original adventure, now featuring 16-bit level graphics with new sprites and artwork by Toshiyuki Itahana, plus new animated sequences. Core gameplay preserves the classic RPG structure but adds quality-of-life features like a bestiary and combat retargeting if an enemy is defeated mid-turn. This version remains faithful to the original's plot and mechanics.
