Heroes of Might and Magic I

This 1995 turn-based strategy RPG casts you as Lord Ironfist, exiled to the land of Enroth to battle three rival warlords for dominion. Gameplay blends exploration and resource gathering on an adventure map with deep hero progression, culminating in tactical, grid-based combat. Its distinctive feature is the tight integration of RPG hero leveling directly into the grand strategy framework. Later PC versions added a map editor and random map generator for enhanced replayability.
