Brief outline of the game Action adventure game, set in 13th Century Japan, in which players take on the role of a samurai fighting back against Mongol invaders. This release contains the original game, together with DLC missions and an online mode, 'Legends'. Content specific issues This game contains frequent depictions of graphic violence involving human characters. Violence can result in decapitation and dismemberment, accompanied by strong blood and gore effects. When characters are killed, their bodies remain on the floor. The game also includes violence against defenceless characters, who may be beaten and killed while restrained. In one scene, an enemy soldier is tied to a stake and burnt to death. He is seen screaming in pain, after which he slumps over as his body burns. There is also violence involving animals. For example, a group of horses are attached to a bomb and ordered to run towards the enemy. The player must fire arrows at the horses in order to prevent the attack. The animals make pained noises before falling to the floor. Other issues This game offers players the opportunity to purchase in-game items, in the form of a PS5 upgrade, which some parents or carers may want to be aware of. Parents, carers or other responsible adults should check to see what is being offered before making any purchase on behalf of a child. It should be noted that the game can still be played without the need to purchase such items.
