Update 15.1 is dropping on February 11, bringing a massive wave of content led by the Lunar New Year event. Between the new Nian Paradox event and a fresh temporary battle type, World of Warships is shifting its tactical landscape with faster matches and unique reward structures.
The headline act is the Nian Paradox. This Lunar New Year event splits players into two coalitions, offering a path to earn up to four ships. The real prize here is the chance to secure a Tier X vessel, which is a significant step up from the usual mid-tier event rewards we see. Whether you are a veteran or a mid-tier grinder, the Event Pass and coalition mechanics provide a clear progression path for the next few weeks.
For those tired of the standard 20-minute slog, the Unbreakable Front 7v7 battle type is a game-changer. It features a 15-minute time limit and, crucially, new respawn mechanics. This shifts the meta toward aggressive, high-risk plays since losing your ship early doesn't necessarily mean you're headed back to the port immediately. It’s the perfect environment for testing aggressive destroyer builds or brawling battleships.
The Armory is also getting a substantial restock. Two new ships are entering the fray:
- Pioneer: A new Cruiser available for Steel.
- Châteaurenault: A Destroyer obtainable via Research Points.
Operations are receiving some much-needed love as well. Wargaming is introducing randomized secondary tasks to keep the PvE experience from feeling repetitive. Improved UI visibility for these tasks means you won't have to squint at the corner of your screen while dodging torpedoes. Server maintenance for the update is scheduled for February 11, from 01:00 AM to 06:00 AM PT. Make sure your client is ready to download the patch once the servers are back online.
